Site Visit at Maryland Correctional Institution - Hagerstown (MCI-H)
On April 26, 2011,
representatives from the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (MD DPSCS), and National Fatherhood Initiative (NFI) attended a site visit at MCI-H. This medium security facility houses approximately 2,000 inmates and is running the InsideOut Dad™ program.
During this site visit, about 20 inmates had an opportunity to share with those in attendance how their lives have been changed by the program. Each of the inmates that spoke have gone through the program with Social Worker, Cristine Fisher, following her being trained to run InsideOut Dad™ through a grant from BJA.
