About

This Spanish-language fatherhood program is ideal for helping Latino fathers in your community to become the best fathers they can possible be. With Siempre Papá™, you can increase fathers’ involvement, responsibility, and commitment in the lives of their children.

Siempre Papá™ focuses on the universal characteristics of fathering that are the foundation of National Fatherhood Initiative’s popular 24/7 Dad™ program, and is available as a basic fathering program (Siempre Papá™ A.M.) and a more in-depth program (Siempre Papá™ P.M.). Each stand-alone program consists of twelve two-hour sessions, which can be implemented in a group setting, or in a one-on-one home-based setting. At the end of each program, fathers and mothers may come together to discuss the developments the father has gone through and how it has affected their relationship and family life.

Through Siempre Papá™, fathers from a variety of Latin American, Carribean, and other Latino backgrounds, can explore five characteristics that men need to be great dads 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Framed in a culturally-sensitive perspective, Siempre Papá™ was written by native Spanish speakers, and edited by an internationally renowned translation company.

After completing Siempre Papá™, a dad will be:

  • Aware of the significant role he has in the family. He is a positive role model. He capitalizes on his unique skills and the unique skills his wife/the mother of his children brings to raising his children. He is able to balance his different roles - provider, role-model, encourager, etc.
  • A nurturing parent who understands and accepts the importance his parenting skills have in developing the physical, emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual, and creative needs of his children.
  • A man who builds and maintains healthy and supportive relationships with his children, wife, family, friends, and community.
  • A man who is aware of himself and aware of the significant impact he has in his family. He is in touch with his moods and feelings/emotions, his capabilities, his strengths and his limitations.
  • A man who takes care of himself. He gets annual physicals, eats the proper foods, exercises, has a strong spiritual connection with his community, and chooses friends who reinforce his healthy choices.
