Clay graduated from Boston College School of Management, Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Accounting. He first worked for Ernst & Young (then Ernst & Ernst) in the audit and consulting departments, focusing in the nonprofit and government sectors. For the past 33 years Clay has continued to practice in public accounting as a partner in a local firm. He started his own practice with his wife Barbara, this past year.
Having a heart for nonprofits his audit and consulting practice has continued to be directed in this area. He currently serves on the Board of Atlantic Christian School, and in the past has served on various nonprofit boards. He has been a board member, trustee and executive advisor at his church for the past eleven years as it has grown from a congregation of 300 to over 2000. He has also served as principal auditor for NFI for the past twelve years.
His practice is not limited to nonprofits. He enjoys helping individuals to start their own businesses and help others to grow. He is able to draw on his experience in a wide variety of industries to find useful application in the challenging area of nonprofit management and governance. Clay and his wife, Barbara, reside in southern New Jersey. Together they have 6 sons and 4 grandsons. Clay also coaches his youngest son’s track team at Atlantic Christian School in Egg Harbor Township.
