Melissa oversees the FatherSOURCE Resource Center, Graphic Design Staff, and Program Support Services at NFI. She received her BA from George Mason University in Communication, and also holds Certificates in Graphic and Web Design from Montgomery College. Prior to NFI, Melissa worked at MarketBridge, a Marketing Consulting firm providing go-to-market strategy and execution for Fortune 500 clients in the technology, healthcare, and financial industries. For several years prior, she was Marketing Director for a McDonald's franchisee, where she managed local store marketing and community outreach for 18 McDonald's locations. Melissa lives in Germantown, Maryland with her husband, and two Maine Coon cats.

As Resource Center Manager, Jillian ensures quality customer service at FatherSOURCE by serving customers, managing inventory, orders, and our online store, and by assisting with the marketing and advertising of our products. In previous roles at NFI, she was Executive Coordinator for the NRFCBI for several years, and prior to that served as NFI's Events Coordinator. Jillian graduated from the
University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and received a B.A. in
Communication with a Public Relations and Advertising concentration. Jillian lives in Frederick, MD with her husband James.

Michael joined National Fatherhood Initiative in 2003. As part of his undergraduate work, he studied history and political theory for one semester at an Oxford University-affiliated program. During his time at NFI, Michael has held a variety of positions. As Director of Donor Relations, he helped strengthen NFI’s base of individual supporters. In his current role, Michael works to equip organizations with NFI’s wide range of resources and programs, all of which are designed to help fathers develop the necessary confidence and skills in caring for their children.
In addition, Michael has helped create new resources to engage fathers, including How to Connect with Your Children and Family After Release and Igniting Father-Child Relationships: Sharing Favorites Fosters Connections. Michael, his wife Kelly, and their two boys reside in Frederick, Maryland. During his free time, Michael enjoys running, hiking, camping and watching the Yankees. |

Tim Red

Tim Red currently serves as Director, Military Programming as part of NFI's Program Support Team. He works with fathers, families, and family support programs on military installations nationwide.
Tim joined NFI after 30 years of military service with the last twenty in an Active Duty status. He served four years as the State Family Program Director for the Texas National Guard. At the end of his career he was mobilized and then deployed overseas in support of the Kosovo Peacekeeping mission for seventeen months. Tim and his wife Paula have four kids: Travis, Nathan, Zach and Nikki. He enjoys watching his kids play baseball, tennis and soccer.

Lisa brings an extensive history of working with children and families in the community service arena to her current position at National Fatherhood Initiative. She recently closed out the National Responsible Fatherhood Clearinghouse project managed by NFI for several years. Prior to joining National Fatherhood Initiative, she worked for Opportunities Alternatives and Resources (OAR) of Fairfax Inc., where she facilitated a revolving 10-week Responsible Fatherhood Workshop to male inmates at the Fairfax County Jail in Northern VA. She also served as co-chair of the Fairfax Fatherhood Collaborative and has appeared as a guest on a local VA television show entitled “It Takes a Village”. Lisa obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Child and Family Community Services from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green Ohio. Lisa currently resides in Northern Virginia.

Ave Mulhern currently serves as Program Support Consultant at NFI. Passionate about improving the well being of children & families, Ave assists, educates and trains individuals & organizations seeking to start or expand fatherhood programming, services, and knowledge.
After a long and successful career with Verizon where her work experience included management roles in Finance and Marketing as well as Training Specialist for Workforce Development, Ave joined National Fatherhood Initiative in October 2006 and served as director of NFI’s Responsible Fatherhood Capacity Building Initiative (NRFCBI), a five-year initiative funded by the Office of Family Assistance at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that helped 119 local community-based and faith-based organizations improve their organizational, program, and leadership capacity as well as increasing connections within and beyond their communities.
Ave and her husband Joe have been married since 1975 and live in Willow Grove, PA. They have two children, Meghan and Joseph and two grandchildren.

Connie comes to National Fatherhood Initiative with 13 years of experience in graphic design. Before joining NFI, she was a graphic designer with the Susquehanna Pfaltzgraff Co. She is a graduate of Millersville University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Commercial Art. Connie is also a graduate of Penn State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management. She Lives in York, Pennsylvania with her son, Isaiah. |

D.L. brings to NFI's Web operations a diverse range of experience and professional focus spanning 13 years. Beginning his career as a senior editor to two award-winning political news portals, D.L. has since worked for various entities as a freelance communications consultant and advisor. D.L.'s previous role before joining NFI was at MTV (Music Television) where he worked as a music reporter for the company's online news staff. In his spare time, D.L. enjoys reading, writing and supporting his beloved Washington area sports franchises. A native Washingtonian, D.L. resides in Maryland with his family.
