Actor Jon Voight Joins Son James Haven In Promoting New Film

Although the details behind the reconciliation between formerly estranged father-son actors Jon Voight and James Have are largely unknown, the pair joined together in Austin, Texas ahead of the world premiere of a new independent film featuring Haven yesterday (February 15).

The movie, “Deep In The Heart Of Texas,” features James Haven in the inspirational film which is based on true story of Dick Wallrath, a man who overcame alcohol addiction and reconnected with his family. Wallrath also managed to build a successful ranching business and supported several charities, becoming one of the most beloved philanthropists in Texas.

Haven plays the boyfriend of Wallrath’s daughter in the film, and was grateful to take on a role that was based on actual people. “It was an honor because it is the first time I’ve ever played anybody who’s real; I’ve played a lot of fictional creations,” said Haven by way of an Associated Press report. “Anytime you have the opportunity to do any kind of story that is based on a true story, I think those are the most inspirational.”

Jon Voight offered support to his son and the film, with the veteran actor seemingly impressed by what he saw. “I think there is something very appealing in it, and I think that is because of the actors,” Voight said.
