A Busy dad's guide to enjoying the holidays
Thanksgiving is a great opportunity to connect to your kids and remember what you're thankful for. Check out these essentials for unplugging from work and enjoying the holiday with your family:
Don't Check E-mail. Just don't. Or Facebook, for that matter. Take a modified technology fast so that you're guaranteed to connect with the family and friends around you.
Spark Some Dinner Conversation. Have each person at the table share what they're thankful for this year and list their top three blessings. You may be surprised at what your kids are grateful for.
Plan a Special Activity. Whether it is watching the game together, crunching through the leaves, or a fun craft, set aside time for a special activity that you'll share with your kids on Thanksgiving.
Step Back. Be fully present in the day. Step back, count your blessings, and get all mushy with a hug or two.
