Position Title: Customer Support/Sales Representative
Status: Exempt
Location: National Fatherhood Initiative Headquarters (Gaithersburg, MD)
Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Monday - Friday; some nights and weekends required
Travel: Minimal, less than 5% time
General Description:
Under the supervision of the Marketing Manager, the Customer Support/Sales Representative sells NFI products (e.g., curricula, brochures, and CDs) and services (e.g., workshops and technical assistance) generated from prequalified and unqualified leads.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Build and manage a pipeline of potential customers (primarily organizations, not individuals) of NFI's products and services from own prospecting activities and incoming leads. This responsibility involves fielding inbound sales-related inquiries (telephone calls and electronic communications, such as e-mails and through NFI's Web site) about NFI's products and services that come directly to NFI.
- Log potential customers and correspondence with those customers into a sales-related database to ensure timely follow up.
- Generate monthly reports on sales activity and results for review by the Marketing Manager.
- As necessary, triage potential customers to NFI program staff to answer in-depth questions.
- Follow-up with prequalified leads generated by NFI staff. NFI staff, especially program staff, are often the first point of contact for a potential customer. The Inside Sales Representative will work with staff to identify whether staff or the Inside Sales Representative should take the lead and close the sale.
- Follow-up with prequalified leads generated through NFI exhibits at conferences and other events.
- Identify product and service solutions that meet potential customer's wants and needs, provide quotes, and close sales.
- Identify and contact current FatherSOURCE™ customers to provide customer service (e.g. after-purchase touches), identify other products and services that will meet their wants and needs, and close additional sales. This responsibility will include logging customer feedback on products and services for use when NFI creates new products and services or modifies existing ones.
- Work with resource center and finance staff to complete and process orders.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Assist the Marketing Manager with the analysis of current and potential customers' wants and needs
- Exhibit at conferences and other events
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university
- 1-3 years experience in sales, preferably inside sales
- Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Proficient in the use of sales-related databases or customer relationship management software
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Effective listener

Position Title : Executive Assistant
Status: Exempt
Location: National Fatherhood Initiative (NFI) HQ in Gaithersburg, MD
Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Monday - Friday; some nights and weekends required
Travel: Up to 10%
General Description:
Under supervision of the Executive Director, National Responsible Fatherhood Clearinghouse, (NRFC), the Executive Assistant provides administrative support for the NRFC, an initiative of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services/Administration for Children and Families/Office of Family Assistance (DHHS/ACF/OFA). The Executive Assistant also assists the management team of the NRFC in coordinating the activities of this project, and provides administrative support to the Finance and Contract Administration Department.
The Executive Assistant must have strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and must be comfortable working in a fast paced office environment. Teamwork, flexibility, and willingness to help where needed are also a must.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Assist the NRFC management team to prepare and deliver a monthly progress report to DHHS/ACF/OFA on the activities of the project
- Assist the NRFC management team in coordinating meetings with OFA staff and between the management team and subcontractors
- Assist the NRFC in providing training and technical assistance (T & TA) to faith and community-based organizations that builds capacity to sustain these organizations and to develop and deliver successful programs and services for fathers. This T & TA will be provided via phone, e-mail and on-site visits. This responsibility will include fielding phone calls and e-mails for T & TA and referring those calls to the appropriate project staff and tracking T & TA as well as arranging travel for staff
- Assist the management team with coordinating the delivery of T & TA
- Assist the Executive Director of the NRFC with preparing an annual report for OFA on the outcomes of NRFC activities
- Attend meetings and complete meeting minutes including follow up on tasks and action items
- Provide general administrative support to the Finance and Contract Administration Department (approximately 25% of overall responsibilities)
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Assist NRFC Executive Director with telephone calls and email response
- Ability to set up processes as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Passionate about fatherhood and related issues
- Proficient in use of MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Flexibility and able to multi-task
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
