Upon submission of your nomination, you will receive a confirmation email assuring you that your nomination has been received.
By submitting this nomination, you agree to let NFI use the nominee's and your information in the appropriate marketing materials. Contact information for the nominee and nominator will not be sold or shared with third parties.
The answers to each of the five questions on the nomination form will be scored individually and will be totaled. Nominations advancing to the semi-finalist round will be reviewed and score by several reviewers to ensure equality across the scoring. Three finalists will be chosen. The nominators of the top three nominees from the semi-finalist review will be contacted by NFI by Monday, March 11, 2013 to inform them of the selection of their nominee as a finalist.
The three finalists will be required to submit a two-minute video telling their story and provide digital pictures of them and their family which will be shared publicly on NFI's website and Facebook page. NFI will provide an videorecorder to the families of the finalists to record the videos and take pictures and will cover all expenses for shipping. If finalist/nominator is not able to submit a video, another finalist will be selected to take their place. Videos, photos, and other material submitted will become the property of NFI.
The three finalist videos will be posted on a Facebook application page owned and operated by NFI where Facebook users can view the videos and vote for the story they find most compelling. Voting will open on or around the date of Monday, April 15, 2013, and will end on or around the date of Sunday, May 12, 2013. NFI will publicize the exact dates of voting at www.militaryfatherhoodaward.org. Facebook users can vote once per day during the voting period.
Contact information, photographs, and finalist videos of the three finalists and their families may be shared with third parties on an as-needed-only basis for the purposes of media, preparation for the award presentation, etc. Contact information will not be sold or shared outside of the needs of the award program.
The finalist who receives the most votes on the Facebook application will be selected as NFI's 2013 Military Fatherhood Award™ recipient. NFI will contact all three finalists and their nominators to notify them of the results after the voting period is concluded.
NFI will work with the awardee's family and nominator to coordinate and plan the award presentation at a location on or near the awardee's installation on a date in June 2013 near Father's Day.
