2007 Military Fatherhood Award™

At the 2007 10th Annual Fatherhood Awards™ Gala at the Hyatt Regency in Washington on Capitol Hill, National Fatherhood Initiative (NFI) and Lockheed Martin awarded Gunnery Sergeant Kevin Andrade with the first ever Military Fatherhood Award™ for his commitment to his wife and their three children.

Other Fatherhood Awards

National Fatherhood Initiative (NFI) awarded NBA star Allan Houston, Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, Washington Redskins quarterback Mark Brunell, Dr. Walter Lomax, and Gunnery Sergeant Kevin Andrade with 2007 Fatherhood Awards.

Roland C. Warren, president of NFI, said, “This year’s winners have demonstrated a devotion to fatherhood that is transforming the way our nation views the roles of fathers in children’s lives. Our corporate awardees, through their advertising and business practices, are also providing a model that will transform our culture and inspire and encourage fathers to be the best dads they can be.”

The following corporations were also awarded for their father-friendly marketing campaigns – American Airlines, AT&T, and Procter & Gamble. Finally, Best Life magazine was honored for its high-quality articles and features dealing with fatherhood issues Gunnery Sergeant Kevin Andrade, United States Marine Corps, received the first ever Military Fatherhood Award, sponsored by Lockheed Martin. Andrade was awarded for his steadfast dedication to his family and his country. Inaugurated in 1997, the Fatherhood Awards are presented each year to individuals, corporations, and organizations that make a substantial contribution to the strengthening of involved, responsible, and committed fatherhood in their work or personal lives.

Past Fatherhood Awardees include: actors James Earl Jones and Tom Selleck, country music superstar Tim McGraw, Fox News Channel’s Neil Cavuto, NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly, Multi-Platinum Recording Group Lonestar; IBM, Johnson & Johnson, and Chevrolet.
