Recently, a young Georgia woman developed a rare condition called necrotizing fasciitis after cutting her leg in a accident while zip lining over the Little Tallapoosa River in west Georgia. ABC News reports Aimee is breathing on her own, and through this story, a strong example of fatherhood is revealed.

Aimee’s father wrote on his Facebook page "Aimee is being Aimee," cracking jokes, speaking candidly and displaying "her usual early morning grumpiness."

He later posted, "Right now, we're just taking each moment and treasuring it for what it's worth. I believe God is going to take care of the future."

Aimee’s hands were amputated last Thursday because they were threatening recovery.

Even with all the surgery, Aimee has kept a positive outlook. Her dad told press she was inspiring family at her hospital bedside. "Her message doesn't reside in her ability to use her hands, it's her ability to use her heart and her mind," Aimee’s dad told reporters. He also says, "I just thank God my daughter is alive."
