Keeping Kids in Books (Hint: You’ll Need an iPad!)

While parents and teachers debate the good and bad side of new media and what devices kids should be allowed to use, The Reading Rainbow TV series isn’t waiting around. The 80’s television show that promoted reading to a generation is in the app store.

The new app includes 150 books and 16 videos and footage from the original show. The app allows books to be interactive. For instance, a book about trucks features spinning wheels and honking horns if your child taps on the screen.
