Things You Shouldn’t Buy In September
If you’re trying to save money, keep saving! TIME Moneyland tells its readers several things to wait and not buy in September.

2013 cars
Most of the 2013 models are on lots by now, and TIME points out, they’ll never be more expensive than now. TIME says to seriously consider buying a 2012 model instead of a 2013 if you’re in the market this time a year, since dealers want to get 2012 models off their lots.
TVs
Some say January, February, March, April, November and December are good months to buy a TV; but as TIME says, you’ll never hear anyone say September. Don’t try and buy a TV now, just wait until Black Friday, when TIME says is the best day of the year to buy TV.
Fall fashion
People buy fall clothes in the fall. TIME reminds readers that retailers understand this and aren’t going to lower prices when demand is high. When is demand highest? Yes, correct, September. TIME says prices on fall fashion lover by November, when clothes shoppers are thinking more about winter.
Diamonds
Yes, if you are in the market for diamonds, September is not the month to start shopping. TIME says the least expensive diamond shopping is in July and August, when sales are slow and jewelers are ready to do business with you. Also, if you can wait to October, many jewelers receive large shipments of diamonds and hope to sell a lot then and in November, December and January. TIME says September is when the selection of diamonds is poor and the summer sales are over.
