Current Government Projects
NFI has partnered with departments and offices of the U.S. Government to promote involved fatherhood. Learn more about these projects below.
National Responsible Fatherhood Capacity Building Initiative
In partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Family Assistance, National Fatherhood Initiative (NFI) has designed the National Responsible Fatherhood Capacity-Building Initiative (NRFCBI) to aid grassroots and community-based organizations through a series of capacity-building grants.
Awardees receive a one-time $25,000 award to strengthen fathers and families and are provided with National Fatherhood Initiative's professional training and technical assistance at the annual Certification College.
National Responsible Fatherhood Clearinghouse
The National Responsible Fatherhood Clearinghouse (NRFC) is funded by the Administration for Children and Families' Office of Family Assistance's (OFA) and supports efforts to assist States and communities to promote and support Responsible Fatherhood and Healthy Marriage.
Primarily a tool for professionals operating Responsible Fatherhood programs, the NRFC provides access to print and electronic publications, timely information on fatherhood issues, and targeted resources that support OFA-funded Responsible Fatherhood and Healthy Marriage grantees. The NRFC Web site also provides essential information for other audiences interested in fatherhood issues.
The Connections Project
The Connections Project is an initiative, created with a grant from the Bureau of Justice Assistance, that focuses on the power of engaged fathers for successful reentry. Through webinars, training, and resources, The Connections Project aims to educate and equip facilitators with best practices that will reduce recidivism by helping to reconnecting inmates with their families.
