Christopher A. Brown

President, National Fatherhood Initiative®

Christopher A. Brown is President of National Fatherhood Initiative®, where he leads the organization's strategy and work to help human service organizations more effectively include, engage, and serve fathers. He joined NFI in 2000 and has more than 30 years of experience in father engagement, family strengthening, applied research, social marketing, and public health communication.

Chris' areas of expertise include father engagement and father-inclusive practice, fatherhood program and curriculum development, applied research and evaluation, nonprofit leadership, and training and capacity building for organizations that serve fathers and families.

Chris is the primary developer of National Fatherhood Initiative® flagship fatherhood programs 24:7 Dad® and InsideOut Dad® and has led the development of ProFathering15™, the Father Friendly Check-Up™, Father Facts™, and numerous other curricula, assessments, digital programs, workshops, and practitioner resources used by organizations nationwide.

He is the author of The 24:7 Dad: 12 Habits of Confident Fathers and has authored or co-authored more than 30 professional and research publications. He has trained thousands of professionals and has contributed his expertise through national conferences, research collaborations, federal advisory groups, webinars, and policy and practice forums.

Before joining National Fatherhood Initiative®, Chris worked in applied research, social marketing, and public health communication with the Texas Department of State Health Services, Best Start, Inc., and the Academy for Educational Development. He holds an M.A. in Applied Anthropology from the University of South Florida and a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of North Texas.
