Certification College

Each Capacity-Building grant awardee is required to participate in the week-long Certification College led by fatherhood experts from NFI and private consultants who have past government experience. Awardees take part in intensive training sessions highlighting some of National Fatherhood Initiative's expertise in fatherhood programming. They also had opportunities to plan ahead for their long term organizational growth and community leadership, to assess their program strengths, develop a working budget, and to begin working toward targeted capacity improvement in program, leadership, organizational, and/or community development.

2010 Certification College Attendees

On November 8-12, 2010, two staff leaders from each awarded organization participated in a comprehensive, 40 hour "Certification College," where National Fatherhood Initiative senior staff and other expert consultants provided technical assistance and training in the areas of leadership development, program development, organizational development, and community engagement. The organizations will use the awards for targeted work in these same areas.
