We Bought a Zoo: An Inspiring Fatherhood Movie
National Fatherhood Initiative is proud to support the upcoming 20th Century Fox film, We Bought a Zoo, opening on December 23 and starring Matt Damon as widowed father, Benjamin Mee. Directed by Cameron Crowe, the film tells the true story of a father and his two children as they deal with the loss of their mother and work to rebuild their lives together.
Damon's character decides his family needs a fresh start, so he and his two children move to the most unlikely of places: a zoo. With the help of an eclectic staff, and with many misadventures along the way, the family works to return the dilapidated zoo to its former wonder and glory.
The film contains a treasure of "fatherhood moments" that are sure to entertain and inspire fathers to step into the lives of their children like never before. Over the next month, until the film's December 23 release, we will be sharing fatherhood advice inspired by the film's powerful themes.
