If your organization will apply for a Fatherhood—Family-focused, Interconnected, Resilient, and Essential (Fatherhood FIRE) grant from the U.S. Department of Human Services (DHS), you know that your organization’s proposed fatherhood program must include strategies that form a comprehensive approach to domestic violence, such as domestic violence screening and assessment, partnerships with domestic violence organizations and experts, and training of staff on domestic violence.

In light of this requirement, I decided to curate some of our recent blog posts with a domestic violence focus. If your organization plans to submit a Fatherhood FIRE proposal, you might find the content in these posts helpful in developing your organization’s comprehensive approach to domestic violence. If your organization doesn’t plan to submit a proposal, you’ll still find the posts informative and helpful to the effort to address domestic violence in your fatherhood program.

And if the content in those posts isn’t enough for you, check out these six additional resources for fatherhood programs on domestic violence in a recent newsletter of the Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation at DHS.

Did you know that National Fatherhood Initiative® (NFI) has a booster session on domestic violence awareness that many of our partners use as part of a comprehensive approach to domestic violence in their fatherhood programs?
