Position Title: Training Director
Location: Remote
Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST; Monday - Friday
Travel: 1-2 times monthly
 
Job Description
The Training Director (TD) provides training and technical assistance to human service organizations and other NFI partners on the implementation and maintenance of NFI’s core line of programs. This line currently includes 24:7 Dad®, InsideOut Dad®, 24:7 Dad® Key Behaviors Workshop, Fathering in 15™, and Understanding Dad™. The TD raises awareness among human service organizations and other NFI partners of the system of complementary resources and services NFI offers that increase the value of NFI’s core programs and the success of human service organizations in implementing them. The TD also assists with implementing funded and non-funded projects and other support duties to further promote NFI’s brand and support NFI partners and potential NFI partners. The TD reports to the Chief Partner Success Officer (CPSO).

Responsibilities

  • Responds to training and program inquiries by phone, email, forms submitted through Hubspot, NFI’s inbound marketing system, and referrals to program purchasers by NFI staff.
  • Proactively identifies partners and potential partners not currently using NFI programs. Schedules meetings with them to present program options. Identification can happen in multiple ways including, but not limited to:
    • Referrals from NFI staff
    • Referrals from existing partners
    • Referrals from strategic allies
    • Subscribing to online newsletters that may feature potential partners
    • Attending webinars sponsored by other organizations that might have speakers or attendees that represent potential partners
  • Secures sales of training, program materials (e.g., curriculum kits), and other NFI resources that meet partners’ needs. Sends associated sales quotes to partners and follows up on those quotes to close sales via signed quotes.
  • Conducts on-site and webinar-based training institutes for current and new facilitators of NFI programs.
  • Manages NFI’s training institute calendar and assigns staff to deliver and assist with training institutes.
  • Coordinates non-funded projects focusing on NFI programs (e.g., gathering facilitator feedback for program improvements).
  • Assists with implementing funded projects that include the delivery of NFI resources, training, services, and technical assistance. Might have primary responsibility for overseeing some funded projects.
  • Works closely with the CPSO to manage relationships with partners that run NFI programs to ensure successful and sustained implementation and expanded use of NFI resources.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Supports and expands the NFI brand by participating in or presenting at strategic conferences.
  • Writes articles for Championing Fatherhood, NFI’s blog, related to NFI programs (e.g., case studies and advice on effective facilitation and program implementation).

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience: Training staff in human service organizations; can frame a message in a clear, concise, and compelling way; able to work in a fast-paced environment that often requires shifting priorities quickly; detail-oriented, extremely organized; excellent task-switching abilities; excellent writer; excellent verbal skills; able to quickly establish rapport and form positive relationships with strangers over the phone and via video; has spent a lot of time in phone and video meetings; has learned to use unfamiliar software and online platforms; working from home.
  • Skills: Highly proficient with platforms used to deliver webinars and video meetings (e.g., Zoom, GoToWebinar, and Adobe Connect). Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; proficient with G Suite (Gmail, Docs, Forms, Drive, and Calendar).

Desired Experience

  • Education: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience: Trainer of a curriculum/program used by human service organizations, ideally one used nationally. Sales, marketing, or customer service. Worked from home with no or limited in-person interaction with co-workers. Has worked with (e.g., facilitated) one or more NFI programs (e.g., 24:7 Dad®, InsideOut Dad®, 24:7 Dad® Key Behaviors Workshop, Fathering in 15™, and Understanding Dad™).
  • Skills: Proficient in using CRM(s) and eCommerce system(s).

This is a remote position, so you should be self-sufficient and self-motivated, and comfortable interacting with co-workers through video and phone calls with few opportunities for face-to-face interaction. (NFI holds an annual in-person staff retreat.) You must welcome a role that is fast-paced and driven by goals, priorities, and key results. They must also align with the wide breadth of population-based research that shows children who grow up with their two married parents are more likely to have positive outcomes than children who grow up without their two married parents.
