The Father Factor

What Makes for an Effective Facilitator?

Posted by Christopher A. Brown

We often ask the following question in training institutes on our fatherhood programs: “What are the characteristics of an effective facilitator?” You might or might not be surprised that participants have a lot of opinions, sometimes very strong ones.

EF_logo.jpgDuring each of the next three weeks, I’ll ask you to answer a question relevant to effective facilitation of fatherhood programs, a vital need to address in running fatherhood programs that National Fatherhood Initiative (NFI) tackles in our new online, on-demand Effective Facilitation Certificate. At the conclusion of the three weeks, I’ll compile the answers and present the results in a fourth post.

So, without further delay, here is the first question:

  • What are the three (3) most vital characteristics of an effective fatherhood program facilitator?

Click here to enter your answer. Be as brief as possible (i.e. one or a few words, or a short, simple sentence). Please enter no more than three characteristics. Fewer than three is fine. Please do not enter your answer as a comment on this post.

Look for the second question in my post next week!
